Seriously understaffed. The one member of staff working the entire shop floor at the time I visited was abrupt and quite rude to queuing customers.

There’s apparently only one queue now for both the checkout and the post office counter, although this wasn’t previously the case. You’re not told this until you’ve been queuing for the post office counter for a while, meaning you then need to leave that queue and start queuing again in the checkout queue. For the same sole member of staff who is trying to service both the checkout and the post office customers.

It’s ridiculous, but these staff shortages are starting to become the norm nowadays it would seem.

Incompetent, ill-mannered and uneducated staff members in charge who do not possess either the skills or kindness &respect needed to deal with the paying public who expect a service upon entering a store, not a dismissive attitude and crude language by staff to each other and the customers. The younger employees outshine the older employees who are downright insolent, bad tempered and lazy.

They're very convenient and helpful...when theyre there. The self checkouts constantly breakdown or have a moment on the scales and 9 times out of 10 there's no staff around to reset it or serve you at the checkouts. No wonder they get broken into all the time. People know that the staff are never there

I went into the Co-op shop to post a letter recorded delivery. Waited a while and a member of staff asked her colleague to help her. She did. The man, who appeared to be in charge shouted across the shop and told the staff member to get back and do her job. He was aggressive and intimidating. He clearly hasn’t been on any form of staff management training or if he has he hasn’t put the learning into practice. Im sure it was embarrassing for customers to hear this approach. I certainly felt awkward. I have no issues about showing or telling staff if they need to change the way they work but in the appropriate environment. I trust staff (managers) know where this should be done and it’s not in a crowded shop?

Store now closes at 9pm, the staff are not very professional, the Post Office is usually CLOSED. And if you need electricity or gas top up, the machine is not very good, with the staff saying its the customers top up card or key being the problem. I would rather walk to queens drive co-op, for a better service.

Majority of the staff are friendly apart from the small asian lady who is extremely slow, rude and makes up lies regarding services and products if you want something that she's not able to do. Rather than admit that she isn't familiar with the request she'll lie to you....
