Hanbury Wharf is a great place to look at new and used boats and it was amazing to see one of their new boats being craned onto the canal...

However, this review is primarily for...

"BRIDGE 35 CHANDLERS"

A BIG THANK YOU and HUGE SHOUT OUT to JOHN and JACKIE for your above and beyond rescue to get us going again on Sunday 25/7/21.

You are absolutely "CANAL ANGEL'S WITHOUT WINGS" and without your help and emergency attendance at Tolladine Lock 10 when we broke down, we would have still been waiting for RCR!!!!

You also have a fantastically stocked Chandlery and one of the best we've seen and been to on the cut...and your diesel is one of the best priced on the cut as well 👍

Your knowledge and expertise of Beta Marine engines was amazing to see and experience. Thanks for the expert tips for the future as well. Pity we didn't do a full service with you at Hanbury Wharf.
At least now we have a purring engine again and so lucky to have happened at the lock landing instead of on the river Severn on the way to Gloucester, phew!

Definitely buying you and Jackie a thank you drink next time we chug through Hanbury Wharf again....

Recently purchased a boat from these guys. Service from Darren, Glyn and Ian was great, from the initial viewing of a great range of boats all the way through to the finishing the sale. Very friendly and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to help me.

They deliver nice boats, you may find some things missing that you paid for or the layout being different.
Our experience on a £147,000K Abode 70 x 12 Widebeam.

Signed up a Crick - emailed a month later as we had not heard anything - Oh that's not a great start the MD said. Maybe I should have jumped ship then

Poor paperwork on purchasing , contract only came a month before the boat was ready after repeated promises it was on it's way.

Boat was damaged on delivery when craning in water - expected handover day was put back 3 weeks. Nobody even called us to tell us the Handover could not be made.

Missing Items
Decking ( Eventually fitted 8 weeks later)
Fan Extractor (Paid for still nothing)
Table - They sent us a table without legs which I purchased and was told I would get refunded but never have.

Wrong Layout
Internal windows layout was not as ordered - Bummer but we had little choice but to accept.

Wrong Flooring in bathroom

Lots of paintwork blistering ........

Anyway, I conclude buying a barge is a pretty stressful experience, I am not realy sure we got the boat we ordered, I think they nicked another customers to get ours finished on time. This company is overworked and understaffed and could likely do a whole lot better .

As said at the start it's a nice boat, their are times where we where told total BS - Not great when spending £147K -

I have recently moved this from a 1 star, that's possible the calm feeling I have now living on the boat.

Similar to some other reviews here we travelled to Mercia Marina to look at the boats on offer at New and Used. We too were met by a very abrupt man who told us we shouldn't be there as it is appointment only. He was very dismissive and told us they didn't have anything we could look at, even though your website states you have plenty of demonstrators. We were informed we couldn't look at any and try somewhere else. We obviously have not been back and will do everything we can to avoid buying our £200k+ wide beam from you. It appears you have some customer services issues at Mercia which may well need your attention !!

We went to the office to find out which boats were for sale but as soon as we walked in we felt very unwelcome, like we were being an inconvenience. One of the male staff was very abrupt and his tone of voice was inappropriate. He told me I shouldn't be in there as it was by appointment only. I asked if I needed an appointment to go in and ask for info on which boats were for sale and he did actually agree that I did not need an appointment to do that. However his arrogance has made me want to avoid buying from this company. His poor customer service was offensive and unnecessary.

Went to brokers today, looked at limited details from outside sales office, then tried to enter into the building to look at greater details of boats for sale. Sales rep refused me entry and shoved a list of boats for sale with zero details of the boats on the list, and simply told me "Go to Website for details". Absolutely furious by the treatment, after traveling to Marina for two hours. What a disgraceful outfit. I would not buy a boat through this broker if they were the last outfit on the planet, as they have shown zero respect to a potential customer today.
