Called in on a very cold Saturday morning for coffee & cake.
We had 3 coffees and one hot chocolate - all made fresh and were very enjoyable.
2 of us has scone (with butter & jam) and 2 had toasted tea cakes. These too were very nice & good value.
The cafe was very busy and as tables were vacated, new customers sat down so it’s obviously very popular.
Certainly a place we’d call in again.

Coffee was great.

Friendly atmosphere. However, simple order error.... bacon, egg, avo on toast. Bacon missed. Instead of bringing a new plate, we waited 10 minutes until bacon on a plate was brought to us. By then, the egg was cold.

The scone, though, was huge. Tasty. Fresh. Could do with extra jam to go with huge scone.

That said, will visit again when next in the area

Lovely cafe in Filey, we only went in for coffee and cake, but plenty of people having lunch and everyone looked like they were enjoying their food.

Claims to be dog friendly. Then after we've ordered and paid for very average drinks we are told by a miserable blonde woman to take our very well behaved, quiet mini dachshund off our ,knees and put her on the floor. She was causing no issues, was laid down, wasn't sniffing the table or anything (because I accept that would be out of order). Another place I'll never go back to. Not that I'll need to because luckily I don't live in the hole that is Filey.

Edit: Would just like to add to the owners response. We did not speak to ANYBODY like rubbish. We sat down and ordered drinks. Then we conversed with each other and your staff didn't exist to us so at what point did we 'speak to them like rubbish'? That's just an outright lie. She told us to put our dogs on the floor and we did. The end. We discussed it with each other at the table but didn't say a single word to the staff. And your analogy of would I like someone with a large dog on their knees is just idiotic. People with large dogs don't do that & I wouldn't care if they did as long as their dog wasn't in my face. My dog is 4.5kg and wasn't bothering anybody or near the table because I had my chair pulled back. So if someone was scared of a dog I don't see why they'd be less scared of one on the floor possibly scooting around their feet. Just a stupid rule implemented by a small, petty establishment. We'll never come back, you'll be as happy about that as we are. We all win.

Ordered a couple of breakfasts (one full one small) a couple of drinks and some tater tots. Not cheap (around £31) so I was expecting something decent.

The food arrived under 4 minutes from placing the order (I checked the receipt). If you’re going to cut corners at least have the sense to give it 15-20 minutes before pressing start on the microwave.

The food tasted exactly how I’d expect a pre-cooked, re-heated breakfast to taste. Edible but not what I paid for. I’d recommend going somewhere that cooks fresh food.

Very disappointing visit. Breakfast was cool. Bacon had been frozen and was verging on rancid. Mushroom was like leather and tasteless as though it had been under a heat lamp for hours. The homemade baked beans were latterly butter beans in chopped tomato with uncooked chopped onion and spices not very nice st all. Even the toast was soggy. Quite expensive too

Thank you very much for accommodating 7 adults and 5 babies today! We were so happy after warming up with delicious coffee and lunch. I don’t know their names but the two young women who were on the till/running food and the young man making coffee were truly lovely. Thank you all very much!
