Kingsgate Shopping Centre - Huddersfield

I visited after work on a Tuesday afternoon. I had never been to Huddersfield city centre before. My family/friends and I usually visit Huddersfield to eat at particular food spots via car.

I had time to spare, and wanted to do a little shopping and get something to eat. I think Kingsgate Shopping Centre is a lovely place to shop for all your needs (and wants)! It has a wide range of shops, from Holland & Barrett to New Look. The shopkeepers were also very friendly and helpful. They made my experience very positive, and I have already recommended Huddersfield city centre to a number of people.

I would definitely recommend everyone who visits Huddersfield to shop at Kingsgate Shopping Centre, venture in and around the city centre, and also explore the beautiful city.

If I didn’t live in Huddersfield I would not go out my way to shop in this shopping centre. It’s okay for what it is but there’s far better shopping centres in Leeds which only 20 odd minutes away via train

Clean. Nice toilets. Pretty good selection of shops with only a few empty units. Reasonably priced parking compared to many city centre shopping centres.

Tight entrance and exit for the car park but plenty of spaces for parking. Centre has a selection of shops, coffee shops and snack shops. House of Fraser was nice with helpful friendly staff. Costa coffee shop had ar least 6 staff and were very disorganised and no customer service from the staff but the chairs were great. TK Maxx had a good range of products.

Lots of parking available and quick access to shops. However... bays are tight and require a lot of patience to get into as you can see from the photo. Clean tidy and well lit but the spaces and pillars make it frustrating.
In terms of pricing less than 6hrs is well priced then after that the price will double to £12.50 which is hefty but i imagine in line with other car parks.

Pretty nice shopping centre. It’s an average shopping centre you’d see in a town centre. Very random music playing in the background, im hearing Waka Waka whilst walking around a Waterstones. 🤣

Good shopping centre especially after the demise of many of our town centres and is still providing a lovely shopping experience. From clothing to toys to eateries and newsagents.
It is also undergoing some refurbishment works since some large brand names were lost from our towns.
There is seating available inside mall too.
It has an accessible main entrance and another at bottom King Street where FREE toilets including chargeable carpark can be accessed. These can be accessed from shopping mall via lift or stairs and there's also a stairs only access from Shorehead roundabout on ringroad too opposite Sainsbury's.
There's also free town bus until 3pm serves shopping centre, taking shoppers to bus station or other areas of town.
Taxis rank also adjacent.
Only lose 1* as parking could be cheaper for disabled.

The Kingsgate Shopping Centre must be the cleanest of its kind I've ever seen. A lovely front entrance leads into what is an immaculate arcade of shops which are all the 'big hitters' of the high street. I don't know how long it's been open but it's 'whiteness & pureness' is hard to ignore. Well done to the staff for keeping it looking stunning... It has been noticed but maybe not by everyone 👍
