Been using Merry England at New Hey Road for years but recently it has gone down hill massively, if you use drive through it a minimum half hour wait, orders come out wrong as they did today. I ordered a prawn salad with mayo on brown and a roast beef on white which the receipt stated, got a prawn salad with mayo on white and a roast beef on brown not even buttered or marged so like chewing on cardboard. Took over an hour to dive there, get our sandwiches and drive home to find they were wrong. Don't know what is going on up there but one thing I will say is they have lost a regular customer due to their incompetency.

Always love coming here for a lunch time treat. Very busy today because it was school half term so long wait to receive our food order at our table. Coffee and food is still good 👍. Thank you 😊

Me and my husband have used this place for years, we have always experienced pleasant service, great sandwiches. However, over the last few times we have been it has been half hour wait even when it's not busy and today we ordered prawn salad on brown and plain roast beef on white that is not what we received even though it states that on the ticket It's just gone down in customer service and due care and attention to what customers want. We will sadly not be back.

Never again and we can go sometimes twice a week. No queue at the till inside, lots tables empty inside, spaces in the car park outside, 2 cars at the drive through. Not busy by Merry England standards, not even close. I asked for two Turkey clubs and was told there would be a 30 minute wait ?! A man in front of me was complaining bitterly about the length of time he had been waiting for a bacon and egg sandwich. He said it had been beyond a ridiculous time to wait and he still hadn't got his sandwich. The staff said we are busy with the drive through too. Really ?
Will be avoiding if this is the current level of service. New owners need to look at what has gone so wrong ? If these are the wait times when it is relatively quiet I dread to think of when it's busy.

Loved Merrie England and are a frequent customer over many years. But today the beef sandwich was horrible, what's changed? The beef was thick cut and chunks, not wafer thin like im used to, lots of inedible fat and grissle could not eat it. Will not be going back in a hurry - sorry.

I waited so long for my roast beef sandwich that by the time it arrived it had actually evolved into a higher life form and fought my attempts to eat it. Disappointing

I visited Merry England (Huddersfield, new street) today with the intention of trying a new coffee shop. Regrettably, my experience was disappointing. The staff members who served me displayed a level of unfriendliness that was concerning. This made me feel uncomfortable, leading me to question the motivation behind their behavior. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return and would not recommend this establishment to others.

Went in today absolutely shocked by the oldish lady with cream coloured Christmas jumper on the way she spoke to staff members infront of customers. staff were doing great job they were run off their feet and she was pulling them down and shaming them if I were a staff member I would be reporting her this is not acceptable need to be removing this lady from front of shop not good customers hearing this
