I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Uber Eats and Cake Box that I feel compelled to share. I ordered pastries and cupcakes from Cake Box via Uber Eats for a birthday celebration. These treats were meant to be a joyous surprise, but they turned out to be a major letdown.

Firstly, upon delivery, we discovered that the pastries were moldy and the cupcakes were stale. Despite the state of the items, children had already consumed half of them before we noticed the problem. This not only ruined the celebration but also raised health concerns.

In an attempt to resolve the issue, I returned the items to the Ashton-under-Lyne branch of Cake Box, although the original order was from the Ashton, Oldham branch. I expected a prompt and understanding response from their customer service. Unfortunately, their response was far from satisfactory. They informed me that since the order was placed through Uber Eats, they could not issue a refund.

This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. The pastries were a birthday gift ordered internationally, adding to the disappointment and inconvenience caused. It’s disheartening that Cake Box and Uber Eats have not taken responsibility for the quality of the products and the resulting situation.

I urge both the head office of Cake Box and Uber Eats to take immediate action. This includes a thorough investigation into the quality control at the respective branches and ensuring that such incidents do not happen again.

I absolutely love the cakes from this chain of shops, I ordered my mother in law a cake and it was ready to collect in an hour. Slices are £4 each but they are quite big. You can park on the street down the side of the shop

We ordered a cake for our son's 21st birthday it was perfect in everyway the strawberries and cream was fresh and the Victoria sponge was perfect a real treat Will order again from the cake box in Ashton

Ordered 4 Pastries from UberEats, the base of the pastry was rock solid. The cream tasted weird. I suspect they were expired or something. Never ordering from here again.
