My wife and I have had a 20 year dream to replace the laminate floor in our kitchen and dining room in our 1892 Victorian house. The dining area is underfloor heated and the kitchen is reached by another room where the Victorian boards have been successfully sanded. Declan sanded one of our boards confirming that they were Columbian Pine.

He proposed an engineered ply backed board with the 100 year old reclaimed Columbian Pine top surface made from boards of matching width. This was supplied with slots on the edges to allow for joining strips to be glued in, polymer glue to fix on the heated screed and lacquer to finish. The finished boards have steps between them and one or two comments have been made - we simply say this floor is more uniform than the original Victorian boards upstairs - which it is! The knots stand proud because they are harder giving an interesting surface and the colour match with our original boards is excellent.

Declan even responded to one of our queries over Christmas to allow us to cheer up our lockdown Christmas by completing the floor! Very pleased.

It may be a bit of a trek to get to (from London) but if you want absolute expertise in old flooring, then this is the ONLY place you go. Declan is amazing and his methods for providing the perfect reclaimed wood floor is far superior to anyone else I've spoken to about it. Our bedroom flooring has just started to be laid, with "new" Antique Wooden Floors' floorboards - and the look is stunning.

We have just become the proud owners of a new floor consisting of reclaimed Burmese teak blocks, originating in the V&A Museum. We could not be more thrilled by the outcome, a floor, arranged in herringbone pattern, which 'glows' with character and style, yet seasoned by the passing of time and countless footsteps! From the moment we made our first enquiry to the floor's completion, we appreciated Declan's advice and the craftsmanship of all concerned. A floor to be treasured!

Declan initially seemed very keen to help out, and requested that I sent him some photographs via WhatsApp as this was the quickest way to gain a response and would always be within 2-3 hours.

Having looked at the images, he completely ghosted me, despite several followup emails and WhatsApp messages over the subsequent fortnight. I finally chased him down via phone after leaving messages that I got no response to, at which time he claimed he couldn't help me at all.

He claimed he was searching the country for pine and felt he was unable to help and it was the 'honourable thing' to let me know this (despite being told upfront in the very first communication he enthusiastically responded to that this was exactly what I was after). Apparently not honourable enough to actually respond to 6+ followup communications between email / WhatsApp regarding my initial enquiry though.

I'd suspect the job was likely too small for him to be interested. But the communication was frankly a very disrespectful waste of my time, and disappointing having heard that Declan was super helpful, could make stair treads and had everything anyone could possibly need.

(Also despite Declan's claim of a country wide shortage of Victorian Pine - two other reclaimed flooring places, one in London, one in Yorkshire - responded to queries within hours to confirm stock and provide supply. So...).

But basically if you're in need of Victorian Pine - try elsewhere.

Declan - got my tiles cut and ready within 48 hours. Without Antique Wooden Floors I couldnt have got my floor restored, I emailed a lot of places - Declan was the only one with a can do and will do approach. Just off the M25 - so was easy to pick up.

Aladdin's cave of reclaimed timber with fascinating back stories to accompany each batch. I went there because we shouldn't be felling trees for timber in this day and age, and the brilliant service couldn't be more bespoke.
