Stayed here for 3 nights, Warm welcome upon arrival. Decor was nice and everywhere spotless. Room was clean and cosy although bathroom very small. Towels were clean but could have benefited from a little fabric softener. Only had breakfast on the first morning, it was tasty although basic and not much of it. Staff were friendly and left you to it which I preferred. Bed was very comfy and there wasnt much noise throughout the night. Beds were made every morning and coffee and tea facilities replenished. Would definitely book to stay here again and reccommend to others as it was exactly what I expected for the price of the room.

We stayed here for two nights as we were having a family get together, because my son and his family who live in the area were emigrating to Australia. It was perfect in every way. The rooms are well maintained, clean and very nicely decorated. The hosts were wonderful, warm caring people, who instantly made us feel at home. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.||This hotel is only a couple of minutes walk to the stunningly beautiful beach. A great place to stay, loved every second of it, Many, many thanks for a fabulous stay, I highly recommend.

Stayed here with my mother and daughter. It is a nice B&B in a good location. The rooms are clean and functional. |To make this review helpful I would say; |- check the mobility of your guests as the rooms are upstairs and there is no lift. This was difficult for us and there is no one to offer help|- take some extra tea bags with you. They provide PG tips in the room which was good, just not enough for us!|- the breakfast is very basic. However it is served in a nice room|- there are no dayrooms or bar area for the evening |- for the price it is nice, but if you want facilities I would check out the Cliff Hotel

Had a lovely weekend in Gorleston. The Avalon isn’t an amazing B&B but was fine for us. Stayed in Room 11 on ground floor, large spacious family room with disabled access, Tea & Coffee making facilities, TV with full FreeView channels.||||Room cleaned, beds made & clean towels everyday.||||Our Bed was a bit uncomfortable, felt like it may have been a bit collapsed on the right hand side. My back is shot to bits anyway but was worse after sleeping in the Bed there. Bathroom was a wetroom, had a bad smell in it to start with, just a damp smell, I put bleach down all the plugholes, toilet etc then realised when we used the Shower that the plughole was blocked & the Water was running across the bathroom & rotting a wooden cabinet the otherside. I spoke to the staff about it as didn’t want to flood their room & soak the Carpet, they were very helpful & seemingly it was sorted out. ||The Breakfasts were fine; Cereals, Toast, Cooked Breakfasts, Yoghurts etc some of the Fruit was past it’s best. ||||Windbreakers, Beach Mats etc available to borrow for the Day, lots of leaflets & info in hallway on local attractions & places to visit. ||They have a great balance between guests given privacy but knowing there’s someone only a bellring away should anyone need anything. No curfews so you can come & go as you please - whatever time. Was lovely & quiet when we were there. ||||Only downside WiFi doesn’t work anywhere in the B&B 😕

The Avalon is extremely well located by the beach front offering easy access to the fabulous sandy beach. It was very comfortable and clean with friendly, helpful owners. The beach want too busy and the beachfront restaurants and cafes were great. We had a lovely stay here - brilliant for a short UK beach break.

Just returned from a great two day break at The Avalon. Steve and Anne are the nicest couple. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautifully clean with lovely fluffy white towels, the bed was super cumfy didn't want to leave it after a great nights sleep. The location was perfect, two minutes walk and you were on the beautiful sandy beach. Gorleston has so much to offer. Give the Avalon a try, you won't be disappointed and I'm sure you will return, I certainly will. Thanks Steve and Anne.

Having checked out of our previous accommodation early due to a poor service what a gold mine we struck finding this place. My wife is disabled so we searched TripAdvisor for suitable hotels in Norfolk. We arrived without booking hoping we would be lucky and Wow! We hit the jackpot. The room we were shown by the lovely Anne was ground floor family Room, en-suite with walk-in shower. Perfect. The previous guests had just checked out and Anne said the room would be ready in half an hour. So we went for a stroll around the area and found a great cafe called Margo's Lounge where we enjoyed a snack and drinks. We were able to book for the 4 nights we had planned to stay at our previous accommodation and were well looked after for the whole duration of our stay. Apart from the array of cereals fruit juices and yogurts we had the best cooked breakfast I have tasted in a long while. And we've stayed in hotels all over the world. Free Wi-Fi was excellent. Biscuits, teas & coffees provided daily. There was a fan if needed and the room was spotless. Grab rails and a shower stool were added in the wet room and fresh towels on hand. The only thing we thought would have been an improvement was the mattress on the double bed. It could do with replacing as it sags in the middle. And the TV is small so if you prefer your screen like a cinema you may be disappointed (It didn't bother us!) Other than that can't fault Avalon for a lovely place to get away for a break. Met Steve on our final day and both he and Anne are wonderful hosts.

This is a well run seaside B&B, close to Gorleston's lovely beach front. Room 9 was clean and nicely appointed. En-suite with shower and a very comfortable double bed. Anybody who couldn't easily manage climbing stairs might struggle up the two flights but I found landlady, Ann, welcoming, friendly and very helpful. First class full English breakfast
