This lovely shop in Castleton does not only offer a wide variety of jewels and other objects made of - or containing - the rare blue john mineral stone, but it also offers very friendly service and excellent advice. If you have but time to visit one store in Castleton, you will not regret choosing this one. I was met with patience, kindness and service, everything that one could ask for in any shopping experience. Highly recommend.

1 star as unable to give 0. Just visited with young children to visit the advertised jellycat room. My nephew picked up a jellycat teddy to show his mum and a staff member snatched it out from his hands. My little boy picked up another jelly cat to show me and she rushed across the tiny space almost knocking my other disabled child out of the way and snatched that from my 5year olds hands and said abruptly “that costs £30”. We then asked all of our children to leave the store as they were clearly not welcome.

Other members of our family remained to look at some of the gems and overheard the staff members discussing us and saying how children have no discipline these days.

While I understand they feel the need to protect their products, the children genuinely were not rowdy, disrespectful, unsupervised or a danger to the teddies, they were just excited to pick out a gift from the shop.

What lovely ladies run this shop. Their range of blue john is extensive, and it is sold with enthusiasm and empathy. So very pleased that we popped in, and my Partner found what she wanted... 5*

Part 2! We returned this week, 'cos my Parner decided she need matching earrings for the pendant we bought originally. Everything I said in Pt1 I repeat... 5* selection of blue john, and wonderful ladies behind the counter!! I' m now waiting for "she who must be obeyed" to decide she wants a bangle!!! 😂

An interesting shop found on the main road of Castleton.
A rather unique collection of blue john gems for sale, and some on display.
The shop sells other bits and pieces too, from candles to cards, and a rather large selection of " jellycat " cuddly toys which are for all ages.
Definitely worth a peak if you love jewellery, trinkets or general browsing !!

Lots of cuddly toys, cute, funny and definitely needing a loving home.
Vaste selection of cards for every occasion.
Wheelchair and mobility aid accessible, recommend scooters left outside.

Such a lovely shop. Bought a Jellycat camel online and the communication was second to none. So efficient and kind. Posted out with care and speed. Would certainly buy from theis business again.

Lovely shop with a wide range of the famous Blue John stone set into some really gorgeous jewellery. I bought my other half a turtle necklace, thought I'd got away lightly then saw the matching earrings! Very pretty stuff!

I purchased an amber ring earlier this week after being assured by staff that all the rings are sterling silver. The amber is lovely but the metal is unfortunately already tarnishing and leaving my finger green even though I have been taking care of it and I don't have this problem with my sterling silver rings from other shops. I then noticed it is missing the 925 stamp to prove it is genuine sterling silver... I was so happy with this ring so it's very disappointing to see it already losing its sheen in less than a week.
