We were given our one night stay with breakfast and evening meal included, as a gift, and what a wonderful stay we had!|The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing too much trouble.|Our room was lovely with complimentary snacks, a nice touch. The bed was so comfortable we had a great sleep.|Although they began the evening very short of staff in the restaurant, the hostess apologized for any delay, it was not a problem. We were courtesy checked several times to ensure that our wait wasn't causing us any inconvenience. The food we had so so delicious and enjoyed every mouthful. |We will definitely stay at this hotel again should we visit Chester.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely grand hotel, for my parners 60th Birtgday. From the check with a lovely lady Eliza. Who gave my partner a lovely suprise. To Caitlin the lady is the restaurant. And not to forget cheerfull chappie Matthew who works the bar. They made us both feel very welcome. And the other staff were very pleasant to. |All in all a very enjoyable stay. And will return in the future.

This Hotel has had considerable
Investment since our last stay. It has been beautifully done. Service is excellent. Rowena and her team looked after us at breakfast. They made us welcome and looked after us so well, including our 18 month old grandson, making sure we had a table to one side and high chair ready. Their service was attentive and we couldn’t have asked for better. Excellent! Thank you.
Although dinner was pricier than last time we stayed it was excellent quality. The restaurant and bar are very stylish now.
Rooms have been well decorated and were well serviced too.
Would recommend a stay here as easy to access the town centre and race course and other local facilities.

The Queen hotel has so many good points, friendly staff, a fabulous building and surroundings, the evening meal was excellent. We booked a Wowcher deal which was an excellent deal £149 for bed, breakfast, evening meal and a bottle of prosecco. My only disappointment was that the breakfast was all buffet, no eggs Benedict today . We would definitely return.

Pros - Nice Lobby and Bar area.

Cons - The rooms are so ancient and furniture is tatty, I stayed here for 2 nights and was so embarrassed when I stepped into my room. I actually thought I was in the wrong hotel when I went to my room as the lobby and bar is modern? Nothing like the rooms on booking.com. Even my nan has a newer TV than the ones provided in the rooms.

We went round Chester for the day and returned to one of our room doors being left wide open with the master key in the room, while the cleaner was somewhere else. (Why are you cleaning rooms at 4pm?) The cleaner also didn’t even clean one of our rooms, all she did was change the toilet paper. And soap in the room was empty on arrival and didn’t replenish. (We had soap from home)
We also got locked out of our room in our stay which was inconvenient.

No plugs near the bed for charging phones.
Rust and bolts missing in the bathroom.

Loud music till half 12, understandable it’s Christmas period but this added to the list.

I’d advise anyone to stay somewhere else as we won’t be returning. The owners need to have a hard look at them selves and get a grip of some of the staff.

This is a very convenient location for visitors arriving by rail, as it's just across the road from the station. ||Our stay was just for one night, but we appreciated the spacious bedroom with comfy seating for two, and the generously sized bathroom, with both bath and shower. We loved the original decor!||Towels were good quality too.||Breakfast was included in our rate and we found a really good choice of dishes available.

Paid extra for executive room only to arrive to fast food rubbish right outside the room door. Reception and bar are nice and bright. Staff helpful. New building looks tired, lift is slow, lots of minor damage like phones on floor and damp on walls. Rooms are good size. Bathroom ok but not finished to high standard. Lacks a fridge. Only 2 sachets of
coffee, 2 teabags. No hot chocolate. Breakfast area very busy. Coffee machine really slow. Didnt taste great either. Food was tastless. Would not go back and rooms are not what pictures show on Booking.com

We stayed in a normal room which was perfectly adequate but there are larger, older rooms with the high ceilings in the older parts of the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is very good. Not far to walk into town and very close to the station.
