We stayed at Losehill Hotel and Spa between Christmas and New Year on a DBB basis and had a fabulous time. The hotel is well appointed, has a high quality feel and is very welcoming. Our spacious Deluxe King Room didn’t disappoint with unadulterated views of the beautiful surroundings and a freestanding bath and walk in shower in the en-suite. It really was the perfect place to retreat to after a day circumnavigating the beautiful countryside. Add to that the well stocked bar, attentive staff and the most fabulous food, we’ll certainly be making a return trip. Thank you Losehill. We’ll be seeing you again!

Came here after a brilliant stay at the Lake District, upon arrival the young girl at reception seemed a little disinterested, never told us where to park to be close to our room , husband dragged all the bits through the hotel .||Once we got to our room we found it quiet tired , the back door squeaks every time you open it , the cleanliness of the room was a very poor standard , lipstick on cups marked glasses , had to wash it all with boiling water , including the dog bowls , the throw on the bed had stains on it so removed it , I spilled a bit of water so dryed it with a towel the carpet was filthy , my socks after 2 hours of waking round the room were filthy . ||The bar man was rude when I said the old fashion we ordered wasnt that sweet or orangey was told that was the recipe put cube of sugar in it mixed and was sent away . ||Next morning my husband went to collect the fresh dog food that we asked to be put in the fridge as there isn’t one in the room , he waited around 15 mins as they couldn’t locate it , we really thought they lost it ! ||I raised my concerns about how unclean the room was to be told my concerns would be passed on , no real apology .||The pool is very cold , so only used once , needs a revamp changing rooms reminded me of school , very dated . ||Hot tub and sauna were nice but old men having dinner in the restaurant staring at you in a bikini is quiet uncomfortable, you should use the blinds in the evening to prevent other guests feeling uncomfortable.||We payed £30 a night for our dog to stay , not one treat was given to our dog , other hotels we have Stayed in with him have given treats toys poo bags . If your paying for the fact the room needs cleaning after we should not of been charged as it’s not been done properly.||Breakfast nice probably the best part of the stay .

Stayed Christmas 2024.||Tale of two halves really - food option was very good, though not always to my taste. The reception side wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't necessarily bad. We found the lovely people serving the food were very polite, professional and engaging. ||I don't really remember seeing anyone actually on reception after our very fast check in until it was time to check out.||Husband enjoyed spa treatments, but we didn't really use the pool due to my mobility. ||Parking was very difficult on arrival as the hotel was busy and there were no spaces for disabled customers (though we did note someone had made a sign and stuck it on a pole for one space (no markings) outside the door. ||We were well looked after and we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Have been to this hotel frequently over several years, and have never been disappointed. My wife and l have just returned from another fabulous weekend.||We always choose the tasting menu for the evening meal of which has a different twist to it every time with unbelievable flavours. The chefs are certainly at the top of their game. What with the great friendly staff and fab. bedrooms/ suits, and great breakfast, we find this hotel and spa the most relaxing anywhere, and we will be back in the new year.||Just a point of interest, the hotel is privately owned by a husband and wife team not a chain, and they have a loyal staff, with some of them that have been there several years.||Would l recommend this hotel ...Without hesitation !!!

We had such an amazing stay here. Set right in the heart of some fantastic walks, with an amazing restaurant, great views from the dinning area and spa we were completely content The staff were all incredible polite and always on hand to help. ||||There were a couple of grumbles but this is just nitpicking more than anything. The furniture in the room could have been more in keeping with the period of the property, we had two pillows each which were fine but on the small side and not great quality, We also struggled for places to hang our wet walking gear in the room, couple more coat hooks would have been handy. I did also notice that some of the gutters were overflowing outside of our window and quite noisy, but being our visit was in December and leaves everywhere this is to be expected somewhat.

This is a perfectly lovely country hotel with a small pool and access to some beauty treatments. But I think the time has come to stop describing it as a Spa and selling spa days. The pool was cold, tiny and the changing facilities shabby and in bad need of update. We had one hours access to the pool, hot tub and sauna where there was no water to add to the coals. My sister’s facial was very good, but my experience was the opposite. The front desk was not very interested in my feedback. The food is superb- so really, unless you can upgrade your “spa” facilities to the minimum expected nowadays, I really think you’re pushing it to describe the experience as “ A Spa Day’. Time perhaps to just concentrate on your country house hotel identity?
