We just decided to try somewhere different for a change. It's very nicely presented inside and out, with a good-sized carpark and a nice garden area to sit in once the weather improves. The staff were very polite and they served very good coffee.
Maybe next time we will try the menu as what I observed from other people the food looked good.

Had a fabulous meal last night at the pub.

We ordered the Chicken Liver Parfait, two roasts (one beef, one chicken), and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. All were excellent, fresh, and well portioned. The standout elements (hard to choose just one!) were the roasties, which were crisped to perfection.

A special mention needs to be given to the staffs attention to detail in regards to my gluten allergy. They were very helpful and accommodating in ensuring I had a safe meal. Although I wasn’t able to enjoy a Yorkshire Pudding, they swapped in extra potatoes to accommodate. They also gave me gluten free bread for my starter, and continuously verified everything was flourless.

Overall, and wonderful experience. The ambiance was also charming!

We went to the Kings Head for the first time this evening (Dec 12, 2024) and found an attractive restaurant with a pleasant ambience.  We both chose something from the specials board, which were more expensive than the main menu choices but sounded more interesting.  However, when our meals arrived, the portions were so small I would describe them as starters. The food was tasty enough but way overpriced for the amount of food served.  So disappointing.

Such a cozy and warm atmosphere here.
Everyone really friendly and we could bring dogs in.
We didn’t eat but had some very tasty ale and a happy time.
A fabulous British pub - we like those!

First time I dined here was 14 years ago , it was fabulous. Since then over the years the food has declined in quality. Today was the last time .I will not be returning.
The spicy chicken starter was dry and poorly presented, the catch of the day was quite literally thrown into a dish with chips , the chips were frozen, the presentation was nil .The beef stew was a game of find the meat , i think i found one piece , the rest was small shredded pieces that you would expect in more of a soup , the green beans again had not been placed but thrown into the dish, then finally the Christmas pudding with brandy custard was about as tasty as I would expect had it been purchased from Iceland. Employ decent chefs and get back to the standard you were at way back.

Can’t say I was impressed unfortunately, the pictures are extremely misleading. I was disappointed with the food. My steak & fries were not worth £25. I had to ask for a side order of peas as there wasn’t even a side order with it. Expensive & not worth it. Won’t be coming back.

Only plus point was that the service was pleasant & fast.

Nice food but poor service. Was not met with a smile, and had an issue that was not addressed by staff at the time. Left a detailed review on the link on the receipt and heard nothing back. Won't be returning.

Similar experience to other recent reviews, the food is okay but overpriced for what you receive. More like roadside food for premium prices. £24 for a small steak and small portion of fries is well overpriced.
