It was like a Winter Wonderland. So many beautiful Christmas decorations,gifts and more. The peace of the plant section was beautiful and calming after being overwhelmed by the shop. (which was stunning) I found the perfect gift for my 17 month old great niece. 🎁❤️

Great indoor and outdoor garden centre with a wide range of plants, gardening accessories and tools, along with gifts and a cafe. Always love visiting to see their Christmas displays, which showcase a variety of themes, with decorations divided into each theme. Although some of the decorations are quite pricey, there are also some cheaper options.

Plenty of free parking. All the usual features and products you would expect
This recent visit was to see their Christmas display. It was all beautifully decked out and had their singing reindeers this year.

Everything you'd expect from a garden centre, not the largest but it has a well attended café which is open until 4 pm, though hot lunch service stops at 2.30 pm.
I always buy my greetings cards there, they stock a large selection, if not cheap cards there. Card's for your special people.

The worst pork dinner I have ever had in my life. An absolute disgrace. Hard, cold veg. Two tiny slices of pork which was a quarter fat. Asked for mashed pots only (twice).. got 2 x roast and a tiny portion of mash. Complained to the server (who was the supervisor) who said "do you want me to take them off?" A joke. No sorry, no offer of substituting for mash. Gravy was thin, slimy and insipid... obviously the cheapest Gravy granules on the market. My mum's sandwich was on stale bread and the chips were rock hard. Be warned everyone, as it's not cheap money wise, but cheap in every other respect. Disgusting

Lovely garden centre with great cafe attached. Dana consistently excellent making all styles of coffee each time we visit with fussy coffee drinkers. Breakfasts excellent value and good quality produce.

Great service, very nice staff throughout centre. I had vegetarian quiche. It was really delicious. The chips and the presentation (see photo is exactly how the meal was presented to me) were a bit average but the quiche made up for it and the salad and coleslaw were fresh. My father had the turkey roast and the portion size was huge. We spoke to other senior customers (quite a few over 80) who were really struggling with portion size ( I saw a piece of gammon the size of a man's head, he was 87 and didn't know where to start with it!). Certainly a senior portion size would be a good idea, like a kids size. My father's meal was really 2 roast dinners on one plate!! Also the coffee size cups are really ridiculous. Are we turning into Americans? Humongous cups for a vat of cappuccino ☹️ even the smaller size I would consider large. I felt like I had a barrel of coffee even with the smaller size.
Pennells is a fabulous garden centre with really great staff and huge amount of wonderful products. Easy parking and accessibility and large cafe. I just think the portion sizes need to be adjusted to the majority of older clientele so there is less wastage.

Called in for lunch, a little early, so looked around the site. Some staff were moving things around, but instead of lifting it, they just dragged it across the floor, totally unnecessary, with no consideration for customers. The site was dirty unorganised and I don't expect I'll visit again.
