Called in a few weeks ago. Ended up staying the night! Thursdays Quiz night, great atmosphere, Lots of fun. Good people, good selection of drinks. Also delicious food! Will definitely be going again.

Stopped for lunch after a long walk with my dog. Great selection of drinks. Ordered off the lunchtime specials menu. Absolutely delicious. I was well impressed with the drinks, feed and the staff were great too.

Busy pub with a big menu. Great range of beers including local cask options. I think they have a linked brewery that brews most of the range. Food was good and arrived quickly. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices...

Excellent food.
Best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had.
Did not stay in a room, just ate and drank.
Nook brewery is the best.

The special things about this pub with rooms are the excellent friendly staff, the modern well equipped bedrooms, the very comfortable bed (but see 3rd paragraph below), the great atmosphere in the pub, the superb breakfast and dinners and the location - looking out over the lovely Yorkshire countryside.||It is advertised as a pet friendly establishment - and the staff were very well disposed towards our elderly labrador - but after 10.30pm the access to the rooms is via a flight of steel steps which have spaces in them. Our dog could not cope with these and had to be carried - at 35kg not easy, especially in wet weather.||Also note the room and bed size vary. Best book directly. We booked through Bookings.com and were given a room that was much too small - luckily we were able to upgrade. Much better for us and our dog.

1st time and definitely be back. Food was excellent even though they didn't have a few things it didn't matter was explained by Emma, and what we did have was delicious. Lovely snowy views.

Great freshly cooked food. Steak pie was to die for, served with fresh skin on chips and peas.............would have been 5 stars but the meal needed another veg to compliment, maybe honey glazed carrots/parsnips or a brassica!?! I'm not a chef. Its just a suggestion.
