Chips were very dry and curry sauce was cold, not impressed on the hygiene, hair was falling over the food and no gloves on people with long decorated nails. I've worked in catering and I'm not happy with the lack of hygiene.

The chips were dry and undercooked and the hygiene was horrible there was flies everywhere and grease marks everywhere the cashier didn't even smile one bit and he practically shoved the pay machine in my face and the atmosphere just felt like noone cared. I would have rathered a microwaved meal.

We've been staying down the road this week and today the weather has been a bit off, so we decided to stay close and just pop and get some dinner, we really fancied fish and chips (let's face it its not a holiday if you've not had fish and chips) so we checked out closest chip shop one was the corner cafe and the other was crisp and dry, I checked the latest reviews which didn't look good so we were going to go to corner cafe. When we got into the town the cafe was closed and as we didn't have much option we decided to just go to crisp and dry... All I can say is fantastic, the chip shop is clean and the staff friendly and efficient, the prices were what you'd expect to pay for fish and chips we both had a small haddock which was not small and was cooked beautifully the batter crispy and thin gorgeous. In hindsight I think it shows you can't listen to all the reviews you read. We me and my husband both really enjoyed our food.

As a paid up member of the Swindon fish fryers association (albeit a few years ago) and having cooked thousands of portions of fish and chips in my time, I can honestly say the worst fish and chips I have ever had. As visitors to Devon we expected much, much better. The chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated from a previous frying. So bad had to throw them in the bin; even the dog wouldn't eat them. Noticed the locals were served first and got freshly cooked chips. To add insult to injury we were kept waiting 45 minutes. Unless your a local AVOID. 27/08/22.

After a 9 hour drive the excellent fish, chips, peas and curry was very appreciated. It was still hot when delivered and the fish batter was still crispy. Lovely polite and friendly delivery guy. Served in a card board box which makes all the difference in my opinion. I'm sure we'll be back again this week. Thanks Crisp & Dry

Very good fish but the chips could have been better. They were a bit pale and for me, could have done with a bit longer in the oil. Also I expected more for a large portion at £2.60. Excellent fish though 🙂

On holiday and picked up pies and chips from this place on the way back to our holiday apartment......the most awful meal we have had from a fish & chip shop! The pies were dried out and the chips looked like they had been reheated inedible..most of it went in the bin. Don't waste your money.
