I stayed for one night travelling down south. I arrived at 8pm and was warmly greeted by a man on reception. He was friendly and helpful and showed me to my room. He advised me to go to the Orangery for dinner and it was lovely. ||It was very clean and a good size with everything you would need. It had a shower room en-suite which was spotless. ||I have celiac and I advised them on arrival for breakfast. At breakfast the lady who looked after me was so friendly and really helpful. She knew the gluten free items really well and the cooked breakfast was lovely. All freshly made. Great find of a small independent hotel that has a friendly and warm staff. The hotel itself is very old and full of character and charm. I’ll be back

Visited here at the weekend for a family celebration afternoon tea. The food and service was exceptional. We were put in a beautiful room of our own as there were a few of us, and after making sure we were ok and had everything we wanted we were left to spend the afternoon enjoying the occasion with no pressure to leave. Such a relaxing and enjoyable time in lovely surroundings. Thank you

The staff are friendly and service especially breakfast is very efficient. |The garden is lovely although not the time of year to be out in it. Room was nice but I would like a fridge for fresh milk. |Breakfast was tasty but I would like some fresh fruit to go with yogurt. |Liked the settee in bedroom.|It was quiet in room even though there was some parties on.

We celebrated our diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends. Andrew and staff were very professional yet so friendly. They made it very special, and everyone throughly enjoyed themselves. Food superb, rooms comfortable, and spotless. Classy decor. Can't thank you all enough. They have now opened a cafe, super cakes etc.

Stayed here as a base to visit local family and friends. Very welcoming and friendly staff, who were always happy to help. Room was ideal for my stay, comfortable and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked with plenty of options and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

What a find! a lovely hotel 😊 Stayed here for two nights 16th/17th December while visiting my granddaughter and her family. Very nice friendly welcome and was happily helped to my room with my very heavy suitcase! Room was very nice, very clean, everything I needed. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully cooked and presented, lovely smiling waitress too. The garden looked so nice, looking forward to returning in the springtime so I can enjoy sitting out there. Thank you Andrew and all your staff, I had such a nice stay with you, I shall return.

Before I review the hotel itself, I’d like to start off by saying I was extremely disappointed with the hotels policy and the complete lack of concern for guests traveling during a storm (Darragh). Unfortunately for me, I’m unable to have my phone whilst at work so I wasn’t able to catch up on the latest news/weather until 7PM! After speaking with my family and discussing whether it would be safer for me to cancel my reservation, I then contacted the hotel and booking.com direct, speaking with the owner, I explained the current weather conditions and guidance given by the met, explained my concerns and went into personal detail about why I was visiting the area. I am fully aware about the ‘cancellation policy’ and fully respect why it’s in place. There really does need to be some leeway when it comes down to weather conditions. Again, I respect you have a business to run and didn’t want to loose money as you still have to pay commission to booking.com.
That being said, I appreciate the manager offering to move our stay to another date (21st December) two weeks later… due to work commitments this wasn’t possible.
*Future guest may need to take this into consideration before booking.

A beautiful Victorian building that has so much character and is tastefully decorated!

Check in was fast and friendly. We were shown to our room (Deluxe Double) which had an en-suite bathroom (no bath, just a shower), comfy bed, TV and tea & coffee making facilities.
The hotel was busy, but we didn’t hear a peep from the other guests.
We really enjoyed a glass of red or two in the drawing room and loved taking in all the decor and quirky details. The main building and surrounding grounds are very well kept and it shows.

Understandably, I was reluctant to stay here and was left with a sour taste after speaking with the owner the night before, after calming down and braving the drive… our stay was enjoyable, comfortable and we felt right at home.

Have stayed here before and enjoyed it. The hotel has only got better since our last visit and is a lovely boutique hotel. Beautiful decor, comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast. Now has the addition of a lovely little cafe, Lilly's. Amazing cakes and coffee. Highly recommended!
