Best customer service and cake.i really enjoyed my experience at this store. The cake was a huge hit. The cream doesn’t overpower the actual taste of the cake. It’s very light too, which makes it easier to consume a lot more than you would with a cake made out of eggs. Love love love!

I'm obsessed with this Cake Box! 🍰 Seriously, their egg-free cakes are the bomb. I'm usually disappointed with egg-free stuff, but these are legit delicious. The chocolate one is my fave, but the vanilla is pretty amazing too. Plus, they look as good as they taste. Definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the area!

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the quality of the cake I purchased for my brother’s birthday and the appalling service I received when I raised the issue. As a loyal customer who has been ordering from Cake Box Holloway for years, I expected a much better experience.

The cake was a large, expensive one, intended to be the centerpiece of a special celebration. Unfortunately, it was stale, tasted disgusting, and was completely inedible. The cake also appeared burnt in several areas. This is completely unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on freshness and quality.

When I called the store to address this issue, I was told to return the cake. However, as the cake had already been cut and served to our guests, they had discovered the issue themselves. The staff then suggested I retrieve the cake from my guests’ plates and bring it back to the store—an utterly unreasonable and humiliating request.

Furthermore, the staff insisted that the cake was fresh, despite the obvious signs that it was stale and burnt. I even shared photos of the burnt areas, only to be told that “some people eat the burnt part” or that I should cut it off as if that would resolve the issue. This response was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in customer care.

Instead of offering a solution, I was met with arguments and no effort to rectify the situation. This was a significant purchase, and the quality of the product and service fell far below expectations.

I have attached photos of the cake as evidence of its poor condition. I am requesting:

1. A full refund for this cake.
2. A formal apology for the way this matter was handled.

This experience has left me questioning my loyalty to Cake Box. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I will have no choice but to take my business elsewhere.

I hope you will address this matter promptly and appropriately.

New Vegan range celebration cake…SO DISAPPOINTING! ‘Vanilla buttercream Berry and Biscoff’

The cake is overpriced for size and poor quality. Presented in a deceptively larger box. Bought online and the image made the cake look taller and wider.
I bought the 8” £36.

The sponge was not fluffy and soft but dense and compact. The cake was only 5cm thick!

The buttercream was thick and SUPER SWEET!

The decorative biscoff biscuits were damaged and fruit was not very fresh and damaged. I asked for the fruit to be glazed as well but this was not consistent.

I feel ripped off! SO DISAPPOINTING!
