This chain Japanese cafe is located on Angel Street and is very easy to find, just a 7-10 mins walk from the tube station. The interior is a bit narrow, and the seating can feel quite cramped.
We ordered a black sesame latte, black sesame cake, MontBlanc cake, matcha crepe cake, matcha latte, and white ale. While the two black sesame items were somewhat average—lacking a strong sesame flavor—the other dishes were excellent and definitely worth recommending.
However, the staff could improve their friendliness, as they didn’t seem very welcoming. Overall, it’s a nice spot with some great desserts!

Had tea (yuzu hojicha and Kyoto special) and matcha cake. Inside space is cute but cramped, but they know their tea. Matcha cake was well done - super creamy and you’d need to share this.

A Japanese Vibe Coffee shop. I went for the match crepe cake, but it is kinda disappointing. Match dessert as one of the favourites for Asian is because they are not really sweet, but the cake there failed this asian sweetness test and you can’t really feel the attractiveness of match from this cake. For the coffee, I ordered hot Americano and there’s nothing special about it. It tastes like the kind of coffee you can buy it from Pret. Anyways, the atmosphere of the shop inside is pretty good and I love the interior design. However, the restaurant adopts free seating and it’s kinda hard to find a seat as the shop is kinda small and the seats there aren’t really comfy.

Such a beautiful cafe with a great selection of Japanese tea and cakes. Although some of the drinks could be a little on the pricier side, it is fairly reasonable for London prices and there is hot water by the counter to refill tea.
Lovely seating area outside 10/10.

Absolutely delicious basque cheesecake with matcha! I’m a vivid matcha lover, and I adore trying different drinks in different places. Matcha chai latte in here was really good as well! The only disadvantage the place is tiny, they do have a large garden with outdoor seatings but it was freezing outside and the place was packed. Wish their cafe was bigger!

As somebody who switched to matcha and no longer drinks coffee, I find it incredibly hard to find a good matcha whenever I am traveling and cant make it at home. This was the best matcha Ive had in any restaurant/cafe/tea house outside of Japan. The owner brings all the matcha and tea options directly from Japan and has a selection of incredible Sake and Japanese whiskey to purchase. The decor is very Japanese and cozy and they have a beautiful courtyard garden outside. We ordered the ceremonial matcha and a flat white with soy milk (make sure to ask for unsweetened in all the latte drinks if, like me, thats what you prefer). My matcha (prepared koicha style was served in a classic chawan) and the flat white was frothed for a deliciously creamy drink.

After visiting their Covent Garden branch (inside Uniqlo shop), I decided to go to their Angel/Islington branch. I visited today with a friend. As expected, there was a queue and super busy. Limited seating, but thankfully, we saw a couple leaving, and my friend secured a table for us. Approx 15 minutes queuing and ordering. We both ordered a matcha flat white and matcha basque cheesecake each. As a matcha enthusiast, I absolutely loved it! The basque cheesecake had a subtle sweetness, and the matcha taste was not as bitter. The matcha flat white does not contain coffee. Instead, it's a stronger matcha flavour, which I personally like. Authentic Japanese teas and delicious cakes. Price wise, it was not cheap so expect to pay more. Service was good. However, they did not monitor/clear some tables. We still had someone else's empty cups and plates on our table, but it was really busy at the same time. I would definitely go back here, but most likely on a weekday to avoid the crowd. I would highly recommend visiting if you love Japanese tea and anything matcha related.
