Second year we've had new year's Eve lunch here - it's becoming a tradition! The food is very good especially for the reasonable prices. My partner had the pub classic veal liver and I had the venison. It was a good portion size, the meat was cooked perfectly, succulent and tender. Would highly recommend.

I was here as part of a big group for a family reunion. We didn't stay, but we had dinner here. The food and wine was excellent and the service was outstanding. It was so good we returned two days later. The place was buzzing, great atmosphere and I cannot help but repeat that the waitress who served us was just brilliant. We'd definitely go again. I cannot recommend it enough. PS. Good beer selection too.

This accommodation was a welcome surprise, with a large and well furnished room. The design was excellent with a warm, homely feel throughout and some local touches. Service was attentive and friendly. The room did get quite warm in the evening and opening the window let in noise from the courtyard of the establishment, which played music quite loudly through until closing. Cleanliness was good but some areas needed more focus, like the kettle.

Had lunch here, the food was very good. My wife's fish was perfectly cooked and my venison, with lentils, was equally as good. Served with complimentary bread with olive oil. Excellent selection of wines by the glass. The place is very traditional, so much the better, and the staff friendly and efficient. We will be back.

Chosen as a meeting point between the south east and south west family members. What. A. Find. True old style pub, we were in the 'Boot room' taking up most of it. Great service, attentive without making us feel rushed even though we stayed over 4 hours. Then there's the food. Absolutely delicious. Highlights were the scotch eggs, roast squash starter, steak and ale pie, venison, cheese burger. Thank you 😊

By far my favourite place to stay when I travel with work and I am in hotels 2-3 nights a week.
The rooms are lovely and the food is delicious! I feel so comfortable here and can truly relax. The freshly baked cookie on arrival really is the cherry on the top of the cake 😊

Probably one of my favourite pubs. Traditional, in a lovely building which manages to get the right balance of being a great place to go for a drink or food or both Very welcoming feel, which is matched by the staff who actually care about your experience. The food is very good quality pub food. And in a super village. Recommended.
