Will never use this store again after my experience today. I have honestly never known such contemptuous, unnecessary rudeness from a store owner/cashier, absolutely appalling.
Judging by the many other reviews very similar to mine, this store owner/cashier thinks it acceptable to treat customers like dirt. I would avoid this shop at all cost!

Very good little store. Convenience indeed, I was having some issues with the Evri drop off location and the young lady serving was very helpful.
Every time I visit this store it always has what I need and they are usually open until quite late, 11pm I believe. They also usually have a really cool selection of clipper lighters and they sell all of the raw papers, one of the few places that sells the genuine product, they also have grinders and other good rolling papers so overall it’s a huge asset to have in a town with limited late night services.

Do not shop here if you value your money.
Vastly overpriced. I went in to buy some raid fly spray, £7.50 !!!!!!!
Needless to say, I didn't buy it. Instead, I went just round the corner to costcutter and got the self same product for £4.50.

From my experience I find the negative reviews completely unfair.
Yes it is more expensive than other shops, but it's the only late night convenience shop in a small town - so I expect to be ripped off a bit. Also no matter the day or time I pop in, it is always the same guy working, and he is always happy and friendly, despite the fact he is possibly working every waking hour. If you thought him rude you were probably just unlucky to catch him on a bad day.

Only giving 1 star as I couldn't give -5. Don't go here, you can find somewhere else - the rudeness isn't worth it. I absolutely couldn't believe how rude the store operator was (not sure if he is the owner or not) when I came to this store to do an Amazon return with Hermes. It was the first time visiting this store as I was trialling the packageless returns service. At first I had to keep leaving the store to get my QR codes up as the signal was really bad and the store operator was getting annoyed with me but I couldn't help that I was losing signal. When I printed my labels, I took my products and labels to the till and he literally threw the packaging at me. I told him that the instructions in the app said that the operator would sort everything out once I handed him the label and the products I was returning. He swore at me and told me that's my responsibility and that I was rude expecting him to do it for me. I actually apologised to him but he continued to shout at me and be very rude and aggressive to me. I tried to explain to him that it was the first time using this service and so since I was unfamiliar with it I was trying to follow the instructions that I had. Anyway, once I was done I told him that I found him very rude and it wouldn't hurt to be a little more helpful rather than throwing things at me and shouting at me. As I was leaving the store, he was shouting at me in the road which was just so embarrassing. I will never go here again. It really is a shame as Baldock is such a nice and friendly town and here he goes ruining it

Very good customer care from the lady, Shirley, who who was behind counter. Despite it being very busy time of the day, she was very helpfull with my returns. Very patient and polite indeed!

There is one star because I am unable to leave a review without one. The people who run this business are without a doubt the most unpleasant unhelpful ignorant rude people I have ever encountered in a customer service experience. Hermes use them for their customers to return parcels to Amazon and I would urge them to seriously reconsider this association with this business. The shop is dark, dank and dirty. I literally wouldn't spend a single penny with these people if my existence depended upon it.

complete rip off and far from frendly, I stupidly paid £1.69 per can of skol lager that costs a lot less elsewhere, at a max 99p per can. will not be shopping there again, and to clarify there were no prices displayed, so I made the mistake of paying as people were queuing behind me
