Very good price on Tilda brown basmati rice - 5kg for £13.99 = £2.80/kg. I couldn’t find this cheaper anywhere (unless I spent delivery cost or met a minimum order). Also, the assistant was just that: helpful, engaged, willing, and empathetic to this customer’s quest! This is a great little shop, and unsurpassed for spices too. Note: I couldn’t get dried green peas there the other week, but I cant find them in any other shops either.

Where can I start? Not only have the Saroye family been there for my family personally, they actually care about customer support! Not only do they find the best of foods, but their snack levels are insane. Always has and always will be my favourite place to go when I’m popping down the shop.
I’d give them 20 stars if I could, thanks again for always having a smile on even through the hardest times. (Even sunny 😁) Best shop in the world, thanks guys!

Awful customer service from a young boy. I must add that the usual family are very kind and helpful. Got to the checkout and pulled out my card to be told very rudely. Its a £3 card spend or shop somehwere else. Which I obviously will be (luckily there is Nisa in hitchin and a shop in letchworth town). I vote with my money. You do not price all your products, so yes, I asked, "Oh really," not for the minimum card spend but for the total amount of the items. (Normal response to have).
The young boy has an attitude and should not be front of house staff.
You are fortunate that you sell carribean produce else you wouldnt have custom with that attitude. Your as strong as the weakest link.

I take it your the response is also written by the young boy. How can we tell.... the sheer unprofessionalism in thinking its appropriate as a shop to list someone's spend items. And yes, those were my purchases, and yes, he did react as I described above, in which he proceeded as above. If you would like to be explicit about the details please also mention that when i finished my transaction and quietly and calmy mentioned to him that he should have a better attitude towards his customers, he aggressively shouted at me (hands waving and all) that I was in your shop a few days ago having the same argument with his mum. (Just in case he wasn't aware , all black people do not look the same - and i'm not even easy to comfuse with anyone else, which you would know if you looked on the cctv). I rarely ever go in your shop and certainly wasn't in there a few days before.

Your customers were not surprised in the slightest as on mentioning the ordeal to a few others, they were not surprised and had mostly experienced a similar rude behaviour from either the young boy and infact the father. Some have even stopped shopping there because of it. Asking customers to write you positive reviews (post my review) to make my review look misleading is not a good look either. People who read reviews regularly can see right through the fact that all of your reviewers have only ever written 2 reviews, one of which happens to be yours (with a picture and everything - interesting). Thank you.
