Visited earlier this week just to see what it was like due to being in the area, And we came back the same week, minus everything possible in the car to make room for goods!

The selection of plants, pots, and gardening supplies is impressive, and all the plants are exceptionally healthy. The service is consistently warm and friendly. Given the quality and variety offered, we expected higher prices. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find them quite affordable.

Thank you to Theresa for showing concern for my mum with mobility issues and ensuring her safety!

Definitly found the go-to place for the future!!

Little gem of a place, with really well looked after plants, without the now usually found garden café!

Yes, you actually get good plants at a reasonable price!

Owner is great to talk to, and obviously knowledgeable, no body else to radio for help, so questions are answered promptly. He's past retirement age, and is hoping his daughter will take over, but if not, would you? Who knows eh?

Take care entering the site as it's a sharp left before the garage. Slow down with plenty of notice as the cars behind on the main road are not friendly!

The paving slabs on display are not belonging to them. At the time of writing this, the company advertising the slabs did not answer the phone, nor was the web site any use.

So, want plants, go here, want a coffee? Try the garage or somewhere else!

An absolute gem of a garden centre! Haven't seen this quality and variety of plants in years. Prices really reasonable. Theresa is really knowledgeable about the stock so you can save lots of time if looking for something in particular. Slatford will be stocking my Allotment and garden from now on.

Visited this nursery for the first time recently and was very impressed! It has a fantastic range of plants, well laid out with good information on every plant pot so you can understand where to plant and what the plant needs etc. Brilliant range of slate, compost and a small number of pots to help finish off your garden. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, a real hidden gem. A proper garden centre, not a cafe or BBQ seller - just the best place to get excellent quality, reasonably priced plants. Every plant I've potted out is thriving! The Covid secure measures are the best of anywhere I've visited for the whole pandemic. I will be visiting again!

Visited last Sunday. This place is a real hidden gem. A proper traditional nursery selling reasonably priced good quality plants. No flashy coffee shop and overpriced homeware/gift shops just an excellent range of plants sold. All plants are well cared for and good information is provided on plant care. My go to nursery from now on.

Ok so if you want a glitzy, modern, slick garden centre with all the accompanying extras for your garden in a shopping experience with coffee and cake then this probably is not for you !
However if you want good plants honestly grown offered at reasonable prices from a friendly small family nursery, in a relaxed environment then look no further. You have found it !

Slatfords Nursery is just before the Esso garage on the A127 at Rayleigh and is up a short unmade track. It isn't the easiest entrance but I would recommend this place as their plants are healthy, they offer good advice and prices are fair. We've bought various plants for hanging baskets and pots over the last few years and all have been hardy and lasted well. Definitely worth a visit, not as big as some of its competitors with maybe more variety and a wider range of garden equipment etc, but a much more family feel. ☺👍
