### Very Negative Review of Ask Italian Haslemere

As a former head chef of one of the Ask Italian restaurants, I decided to take my family to Ask Haslemere today, and it was the worst decision I could have made! The food was terrible. The pizza, which should have been large, was actually small with barely any toppings on it! We ordered a starter, which was okay, but the main courses – 2x Pizza Misti and 2x Calzone – were disastrous! The chef used the ingredients meant for one pizza to make two! The size, which should have filled the entire rectangular plate or board, was about a third smaller! The Calzone came without any salad!

Then came the time for dessert! The portions were very small, half the size they used to be! The waitress brought the chocolate bomb dessert with ice cream inside and poured cold caramel over it instead of hot, so the chocolate didn’t melt! It showed a complete lack of experience. The menu was literally thrown onto a dirty table full of plates and glasses, which hadn’t been cleared after the main course.

Overall, it was a horrible experience compared to other Ask Italian locations! When I think back to the service at Guildford seven years ago, Haslemere doesn’t even have 10% of that level of service! It’s a shame, because neither I nor my friends will be setting foot there again! The bill was over £140, yet we felt worse than we would at McDonald’s! I really wonder why people even come here!

Great impromptu family lunch at ask today, we arrived as a group of 8 without prior booking and were greeted happily and seated then 4 more arrived a bit later on and the staff again helped without being fazed and us set up a table for them and made them welcome! One of our party is celiac and the staff were knowledgeable and checked she had all the information she needed before ordering. Everyone enjoyed their food and we will return! Thank you 🙏

Harry is the best manager of a restaurant I’ve ever known. We’re a local business and he ALWAYS makes us feel welcome, is always upbeat and friendly. He’s never turned us away, even if we arrive late. Great food, good value for money and fantastic staff.

Really great pasta, my wife had a tasty calzone and my kids enjoyed the kids set menu. Their part was good value for money. £5 for a bottle of water is excessive. And £4 for a little bottle of coke is far too expensive.

But the staff are super efficient and professional and the food arrived quickly and was all hot.

Would eat there again for sure. Perhaps I'll just sell a kidney quickly to raise funds for the beverages, lol
