Lovely place all round, but unfortunately this time we found the butchers to be very unsatisfactory.
We purchased a couple of ribeye steaks, they did not cook like a ribeye, certainly did not taste like a ribeye and smelled off once cooked which was very disappointing especially when we’d bought them with a special anniversary in mind but unfortunately they were thrown away, not even fit for the dog! .
I have purchased from there many times and I sincerely hope this was a one off.

Please be aware of the awful sleeping policemen. They are too high and will very easily damage vehicles. So dangerous.

We made the mistake of trying to visit the Leisure Park on August 27th and had our day ruined by the road closures for the NW Youth Cycling event. I don't think there were any warnings on the web site and signage on the spot was woeful, with no suggested diversions just the bald "Road Closed". This meant that we had to park about half a mile away from the centre and walk. Perhaps you think that's not too far .... it is if you are registered disabled and normally park with a blue badge. Very poor organisation and the day only saved by a helpful official who was able to drive us back up the steep hill after our visit having heard my protest to the person in charge. I am fed up about how the general public is supposed to just say amen and accept such closures, bowing to the almighty god of sport. Some of us have other interests such as antiques and I'm happy to report that GB Antiques in the Leisure Centre is well worth a visit .... if you able to get at it!

Nice area to visit with a few shops to see & look at along with a Brewery and an Antiques Centre. There is a Great Butcher's shop on site as well.
