Updated the re-delivery of a package through their system on Saturday, to be dispatched on following Tuesday, called their customer services on the Tuesday to confirm it was coming that day, which they confirmed. However nothing came through on the Tuesday.
The next day, I stopped by the local post office to find out what was happening and they claimed they couldn’t see the package as due to be delivered on Tuesday (do they use different systems at Royal Mail?!) but instead to be collected. I didn’t have my ID on me and they were closing in an hour (they work 2h a day), and they refused to deliver it at my home as per the system. Instead they asked I come back again, as they seemed to want to do as few deliveries as possible.
Royal Mail might as well be fully replaced by AI at that point.

Attempted to deliver my parcel at 13.55pm on Friday 2nd August.
Have a photograph of the Postie on my doorstep with the parcel.
No slip left.
No redelivery attempts made.
2 weeks later still no sign.

Parcel now missing.

Only get 1 Royal Mail delivery a week now.
Local office has the most antisocial opening hours of 8am-10am.

Is there a better symbol of the collapse of once-respected institutions in the UK? They lose 24-hour tracked parcels, they lose special delivery parcels. No response to inquiries ever comes.

Then you wait in line endlessly -- during the ridiculous 8-10am opening hours -- for them to do absolutely nothing. Gross waiting area with decades-old posters peeling off the walls.

When you finally speak to someone they’re hostile and sarcastic. Won’t ever take a single step away from their terminal, or pick up a phone, to check anything. Can’t even be bothered listing their opening hours accurately. Absolutely unbelievably bad.

My local postman decided to have a go at me for taking too long to answer the door. I explained to him that sometimes I am in the bathroom and have many stairs or just not home. He was shockingly rude and clearly doesn’t speak to my YT neighbours that way but thought he could get away with it with me. I said his anger didn’t make sense, as I haven’t had a go at him for walking away, he confirmed this and said I take too long (even though he doesn’t know where I am or what I’m doing). I complained to Royal Mail who apologised on his behalf but now I’m scared of retaliation. Even the sorting office people have become condescending and mean, becoming rude when I asked for proof of postage and tried to find a solution to the fact they could not. I have witnessed some awful moments. More than just cards left to arrange redelivery have no code, ref, date or identifier of any kind. I should not be scared of my local postman.

I don’t know how they can only be open two hours a day but it all worked fine when I went in and staff were friendly

Absolute joke. Terrible service, three people queuing for over half an hour to be cut off and refused service as the staff wanted to get out. They tried to blame it on computer struggles after everyone else had no problem. Worst service.

Always chronically understaffed. Prepare to stand for 30-50 mins. Bring a book, pack headphones. Clerks have zero urgency - you’re at their mercy

Royal mail are the absolute worst I have a holiday coming up in a few days my Parcel was meant to be delivered yesterday, but yet it ended up halfway down my road. Spoke to customer service and obviously they can’t provide you with the door number they have delivered it to which is understandable so I had to go knocking on all my neighbours doors eventually I had found the door it was delivered to and in the space of half an hour to an hour my parcel Has been stolen/gone missing I’ve raised it with the complaints team all they had to say was give us 72 hours to Reclaim your parcel What is it going to make ? Stupid company.
