I have to use this shop occasionally as I live nearby. Over the years it's been consistently bad. I was in this weekend looking for assistance and guidance and yet again the staff failed miserably.
When you ask staff a question ,; the answer is usually " that's not my section" but nobody is in the section.
Advice for management, train your staff to be pleasant and have a vague overview of the sections, maybe have managers on the floor "managing"

Been here 4 times in two days and everytime I'm super impressed how great the service is, especially at such a busy period. All the staff I've interacted with have been brilliant. Very helpful, you can see they care about good customer service and team work. It's made stressful DIY work that much better.

This is the worst B&Q I have been to. Starting off with needing help at the paint counter and no one there to assist, later a customer assistant approaches the counter and another customer assistant joins her. They can clearly see that I’m waiting to speak to them and they just start chatting away while I’m just left there waiting. After I ask them to help with prices and how paint works as I’ve never bought paint before and didn’t know the difference. I asked her about the prices and she tells me that they are there on the wall- clear they were but I needed further assistance into what is for what. I then asked for a price check for a paint that I picked up as it said clearance on it and once again has me waiting as she’s chatting to her other colleague. After waiting and waiting I told her if she was available to do it or if I should go to the checkout tills and of course she was then quick to take her scanner out that she had in her pocket the entire time. It was such a quick task yet they were incredibly rude for having their own conversations while I’m just there waiting. So that was at the paint counter- I’m now at the checkout tills. I had to exchange a faulty item and buy some more of my shopping. The item I returned was £9.50 and the item I was exchanging it for was the exact same therefore it should have been the same price yet it was coming up as £10. I told her how is that possible if it’s the exact same, she said it wasn’t the same item as clearly would’ve been the same price. I told her clearly it’s the same thing as the barcodes match. She said she didn’t know what to tell me. I was like well can I speak to a manager as I’m sure they would be able to sort it out. Then she goes she’s able to make an informed decision without the need of a manager. I said well you’re clearly not helping as you cannot answer my question. I’m clearly getting frustrated at this point as this experience has been absolutely ridiculous from the start and then all of a sudden she discounts it to -50p. It was such an easy fix, where this whole hassle was not needed. I’ve never had this experience where staff have been so unhelpful and have the worst attitude. I’ve worked in retail before and believe me this is no way to treat customers. I will definitely not be coming back to this branch!

Worst purchase experience I have ever had. Dont know from what to begin with, incompetent people to place a kitchen order properly, horrible customer service and on top of that missing items upon delivery, numerous mistakes in orders made by the managers and generally speaking I have already regretted my purchase. I would’t recommend anyone to buy anything from there at least kitchen planning related. Waste of money and a back and forth process which exhausting.

Good range and easy to find stuff. The staff has always been helpful. On bank holidays this place is usually packed by all the DIY enthusiasts. In the spring the range of bedding plants, and shrubs is great.

I had a bunch of plants from reduced section and was really struggling to scan everything. There was a really sweet lady called Brenda that helped so just wanted to say a massive thank you for your help.
