Watch out for the best before dates on the very expensive eggs. I bought a dozen on the 13th December and stupidly I didn’t check the dates on the boxes …. Well out of date best before 9th December todays the 15th .. bought on 13th. Careless me but even more careless staff not checking dates .!!

Very nice layout but bloody £2.09 for a packet of rich tea biscuits for my afternoon tea that’s absolutely ridiculous and im fuming. You can get a packet of 2 rich teas in waitrose for £2.80. Absolutely flabbergasting. Enjoying the rich teas not enjoying the prices ?

Sadly staff seem to be doing 5 jobs in one, they work hard but clearly is not enough of them. They try and encourage self service by having 2x self serve bays and only 1x manned till, but in reality this doesn't work as people want cigarettes, alcohol, lottery from behind counter and also the self service needs age verification on alcohol, so u really need a member of the staff on tills all the time to keep flow going. Each time I go there is a queue for the staff who are working hard, but as the only shop in the village customers are limited on choice and have to wait. For some the idea of a jaunt to the local shop is a social event (especially older people), and by trying to go all technical I don't feel works in this environment.

Everyone's quick to moan about the lack of staff on tills but I've been in there every weekday for a year now, and there is always staff working hard restocking the shelves, doing the discount stickers and helping other customers find stuff. Without the staff the village wouldn't be this lucky. They are all a credit to the village. Especially Amie, Paula, Yasmin, Tasha, Penny, Melany and Natasha.

Like others have said, the decor is looking a bit tired, but in my experience the staff have always been
very friendly. The stock carried is not comprehensive, but you have to remember, it's just a small village stores in the end.
It's great if you run out of essentials, and obviously it's a bit dearer then the big nationals.
If it closed down, we'd really miss it, so we must make sure we support it.
