Unfortunately, after having bought items from this store in the past and been happy with the service, we must now add to other reviews about really disappointing customer service and attitude we are currently receiving from Morris Trading Ltd (Affordable Furniture).

On 3 June 2024 we placed a large order for various items of oak dining furniture. We were told that delivery would be 3-4 weeks. A week later we added further items to the order. In both cases we paid the total amount in full in good faith that the items would be delivered within a few weeks. Delivery was eventually arranged for 26 July 2024 (6.5 weeks). When the furniture arrived on 26 July, the driver told us that one item (value £600) could not be delivered as it was damaged but a replacement would be delivered within a few weeks.

It is now 27 October 2024 (19 weeks since the original order was placed and paid for in full), and Morris Trading Ltd (Affordable Furniture) have still not fulfilled the full order with the missing piece of furniture and we still do not have a confirmed delivery date. We have phoned and emailed on many occasions since July, and visited the shop, to try and get information and updates on the missing item. Possible delivery timescales have been and gone without further updates unless we have contacted the shop. We chased again this morning after 11 days of hearing nothing since being told the item was expected to be delivered to their warehouse last week. The terse reply we received from Karon was basically that they have kept us up to date and that they will contact us when they have received the item. Frankly, we just do not believe what we are being told anymore.

Of course we have received platitudes and apologies, that it is due to circumstances outside of their control, quality issues, distributor problems, changing warehouses, etc etc., and if we buy more items they will give us a big discount on other items for the inconvenience.

I think Karon now just views us as a nuisance rather than deeply dissappointed and frustrated customers, and you can see from the responses given to other bad reviews what we have been dealing with in terms of the attitude to customer service. I guess our next step is to contact our credit card company and report the non-delivery.

Karon will probably reply to this review in the same vein as the other 1 & 2 star reviews, and so we have tried to just keep it as factual as possible so that you can make up your own mind about the risks of spending money with this shop. We certainly have no confidence to ever buy anything else from Morris Trading Ltd (Affordable Furniture).

Affordable Furniture is a great company which sells good quality, good value for money furniture items. The service we have received from the lady who dealt with us in the shop to the two delivery men was fantastic. The delivery cost was also very good value for money. We can't recommend this company highly enough and will definitely buy from them again.

We brought a new oak table after we sent one back to Oak furniture land which was faulty and I had to pay for delivery. These guys were great brought it right into the house unlike o.f.l. and set it up would recommend

Went to this company in November 2023 to buy a table and four chairs. We chose them as they are a local company although they were more expensive than the major retailers. Had a chat with the manager (Karon) who told us that all the furniture was made locally and we could have everything before Christmas. Excellent. Everything was delivered about a week before Christmas but that’s where the trouble started. They delivered the wrong coloured seat pads (which were also marked) and the table was scratched. We pointed this out to the delivery drivers who said they would report back.

We ended up phoning the shop - they never answer but Karon did phone back after a couple of days. She told us to use the chairs and she would sort out a replacement but it would not be until after Christmas. We left it until a couple of weeks after Christmas and chased. Their excuse for not contacting us was that Christmas had delayed things! Chased again - the supplier was waiting for stock from the manufacturer. Chased again - they were made in China and were somewhere in a container and had been delayed due to pirates attacking shipping on the route it was taking. By now Karin had stopped taking phone calls so we were corresponding by text. I did call into the shop to find out what the situation was but she became very defensive and abusive so I left - not wanting to get into a situation where she may accuse me of something.

During one of the few conversations she deigned to have I did ask for a full refund and she could collect the furniture. She point blank refused.

The months went by and we chased regularly and generally got a response after a few days. Each time there was a different excuse but eventually the boat did get to the UK. It then took an eternity for the seat pads to get through customs but this information was never volunteered- we had to pull it out of her like a rather painful tooth extraction. At some point they got to the supplier and then to the shop and finally the chairs were replaced on the 17th June 2024 - oh how we partied!

They have forgotten about the scratch on the table - never been mentioned. Who knows how long that will take!!

This is perhaps the worst company I have ever dealt with. I believe Karon is also a director and is probably the rudest and most untruthful person I have had to deal with.

Not once during the whole debacle did we get any kind of apology and every contact was initiated by us.

I should have read the reviews before we used them but they did seem very good and personable. I have no doubt that Karon will respond to this review (as she does to most) and I have no doubt that she will refute everything and will somehow manage to turn things round so that I am the bad guy - happens every time. It so disappointing because we have been so patient and understanding throughout the whole thing.

Please don’t use them.

I have used this company to furnish a complete bedroom, the whole service was amazing.
Karon helped me get the correct mattress and delivery was quick and professional. They delivered to Essex and assembled the furniture for me also took all the packaging away for recycling.
I have recommended this company to friends and family, will use again.

We have had numerous items from this lady over the years. Single mattress for the spare bed, king size for ours and most recently a duvan king size. The delivery guys brought it in and upstairs for us. The mattress we got for the spare bed is still fine years later and ours is still good after a couple of years. We didn't bother going to the bigger companies as she gave us honest advice on which one we should go for. We even recommended my husbands parents come to her for their new bed and they live in Boston.

Always friendly and helpful and the items on sale are of a good quality.
Never had any complaints about the service offered.
If we were to be ultra Picky the delivery is always just a few days after the due date but never massively late and we have always been kept informed so not an issue. Highly recommend this business.

Purchased expensive ortho mattress and within 3 months it collapsed and started giving back pain. The sales lady is too stubborn to listen the complaint despite that the item was initially claimed having warranty.
On repeated pursuing, she sent the mattress company rep. to the house who confirmed the item is in bad shape and took photos, and told it would need replacement.
Surprisingly the sales lady gave us feedback that the guy said everything is fine and no replacement required.
It seems that that the shop is totally fraud or there is no concept of after sales service. Won't go there again.
