I love Dinghams. It's a real Aladdin's cave. I brought my mother into town for an appointment and we were very early, so I took her in there just for a browse. They have every tool (not electrics as far as I'm aware) you could possibly want in a kitchen, and other things you wanted but didn't know it! Also lots of nice gift ideas too, and just now selling off the last of their Christmas decorations and goodies. Mum especially enjoyed looking at the humourous coasters. I did actually pick up a pack of very reasonable microfiber cloths that look very thick and good quality. Quite a good range of prices for things too, from very affordable to higher end, including a wide range of very professional chefs knives. A lovely little dedicated baking section too I know that my 10 year old niece would find it fascinating in there, though I might have to issue her with a spending limit! I haven't eaten in the cafe yet but it looks very nice, so maybe next time I take my mother into town.

I was sold non drip candles from this store which were terrible and ruined the table cloth. They refunded the cost of the candles to be fair but the attitude of the staff was terrible when I asked for the cost of dry cleaning. They were superior and argumentative and suggested it was my fault in how and where I used the candles. It is a shame because I like to frequent independent stores but i wont ever be visiting again given the service.

Appalling attitude from a manager which lacks of customer service

I've been buying here for years, both as a professional chef and a home consumer. However this occasion is my last

I brought a knife sharpener and an extra ceramic wheel
When I got home, the ceramic wheel was missing
They quickly replaced this for me.

I also noticed a hole inside my cup, which was leaking liquid and another which had smashed

Although the young girl was amazing. And offered a simple replacement(although the rude lady stopped this and chose to argue with me(so still without a working item, the lady came across and argued with me(the customer).
She said about carrying the broken glass back to the shop, which I said was discarded as we have young children present.
Her response(couldn't you put it somewhere out of reach)
She continued to argue, and I have reported her to trading standards and have evidence of our conversation

The worst customer service i have ever encountered

Asking me to carry broken glass and wrap it up, and potentially cut myself.
We did the right things and discarded the broken glass.

Avoid this company and go to Nisbets online.
A much better service with a business that appreciated your custom

Will not be returning as this was a disgrace
I left very upset and will not be returning. You've lost a lot of vistomers due to this

Broken glass can hurt children and cause serious harm, and the product should have been checked prior.

I have reported this to trading standards and sent over the evidence of both our conversation in person in store, the phonecall, plusthe photo's

The lady needs a lesson in customer service
And shouldn't be the face of your business

The young girl was amazing and trying to intervene, but the lady had none of it and was rude and belittling. The girl was simply going to replace it there and then which would of satisfied me and ended this issue

But the lady continued to argue with me

A customer outside witnessed and said how rude it was.
Surely in these challenging times, customer service is important. Obviously this ladies views and rudeness says otherwise. As per a review before mine. Saying the same thing

Searched for a specific brand of kitchen knives, led to website saying they stocked them. No, they don’t. Just another lie to get you browsing on the website. I hate how often this happens on Google search.
