This trip was a convalescence for my husband, and could not have been bettered for total relaxation.||Beautiful rooms, fab decor and size. Staff are charming and really seem to like working here, which is always a bonus. ||The food for breakfast and dinner is top. haven't tried lunch.||Great location to explore the area, very handy for the cycling path to Tissington and walk to Ashbourne .||I had a massage with the amazing Natalie which almost managed to undo the rock hard muscles that had built up over the last very difficult month. The Coach House is the perfect setting for a treatment.||Callow Hall is a discreet, old world, high standard, warm and welcoming place to feel better. ||We shall be back I hope many times.

We went for lunch in the restaurant, the menu appealed as it had a selection of game. We had the small plates to start which were really tasty. I had duck for main and it was a lovely, the sauce and celeriac made it well balanced. My husband had the game mixed grill which he thought was delicious. All well presented, service excellent, setting beautiful. Good wine list. Would recommend for a special occasion. We will definitely go back.

Impressive old stone manse, went in Fall so looked just like the photo with red ivy. Small grounds to walk and see the tree houses. Good.out building with small gym. Parking down the street except for EV with charging near house entry. Restraint was a good meal, staff very attentive. Room was great with bathtub right at windows overlooking the valley. Prefer this manse vice a very similar one in Wales. Easier drive from Cambridge, better eats and nicer rooms.

After a positive first visit for lunch where staff were in abundance and couldn't do enough for you, our second visit was a huge disappointment.

We booked afternoon tea via their website for six people (3 kids and 3 adults) and were only made aware that children's afternoon tea had to be booked 24 hours in advance, yet there was no mention of this on their website or online menus. Online booking only allows adults to be selected and not kids. It's farcical to find such an expensive establishment that can't create a properly functioning website/booking form. I called them after making the booking but they didn't answer (unsurprisingly). We had three very disappointed kids who had to make do with an egg sandwich as they didn't like the others; nor did they like the cakes.

I enjoyed the food but the service was far too slow. The time between receiving sandwiches and cakes was about 30-40 minutes which meant there was no tea to have with the cakes. Additional pots of tea cost extra!

After settling the bill, we were less than impressed with the overall experience which the high price doesn't reflect. If you're wondering about booking afternoon tea, I'd recommend it for the taste but not for the service.

I'll visit again as it's such a beautiful place, but I'll come with much lower expectations.

Wedding Anniversary treat; not disappointed! An amazing setting, not too far from home. Wonderful staff, all warm and welcoming - couldn’t do enough to make our visit as memorable as possible.
The venue is stunning; the drinks selection is great; and the food was fantastic - a fitting way to celebrate 19 years of marriage.
Will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended.

A Perfect Retreat in Derbyshire
Our stay at Callow Hall was fantastic and thank you to everyone there. From the moment we arrived, driving up the atmospheric driveway framed by stunning trees and classic architecture, we knew we were in for a treat. The building itself is rich in history and character, creating an immediate sense of charm and tranquillity.

The accommodation was wonderful thoughtfully designed, blending modern comforts with the elegance of the hall's original features. The rooms were beautifully appointed, we had a small double so it was a bit small, but not unexpected as that is what we booked.

The restaurant was another highlight of our stay. The food was not only delicious but also creatively presented, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. Each dish felt carefully crafted, offering a wonderful dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed – cocktails were great too!

What truly made our time at Callow Hall memorable was the staff. From check-in to check-out, every member of the team was welcoming, attentive, and professional, going above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless stay. Their warmth and attention to detail made us feel like we were staying in a home away from home.

Overall, Callow Hall is a gem, offering an impeccable blend of luxury, comfort, and atmosphere. We can’t wait to return!

From the moment we arrived into the hive with the soothing music, warm lighting and smell of the pine to the luggage being collected for us without any hassle it was a wonderful trip.||The food was exceptional with the aroma of the dish very noticeable as the food arrived to the table and the flavours were fantastic - my personal favorite was the black cod dish. Loved the local produce and the kitchen garden.||Everywhere was spotlessly clean, well presented and the attention to detail everywhere really stood out to make the stay very comfortable and enjoyable.||All of the team delivered great customer service, but I think my stand outs this trip were Debs and Dave in the restaurant. You have to try Deb's Immune shot in the morning - it was definitely a great way to start the day.||What a great couple of days. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Excellent private function with a delicious afternoon tea together with family. We experienced an amazing service provided by a very attentive waitress. Unfortunately this was in stark contrast to the rude and arrogant man questioning my use of the disabled parking (blue badge was correctly displayed)… sorry if I didn’t look disabled enough for this ignorant man!!!
