They have an ATM machine, which is free cash withdrawal. The staff are also really nice and really friendly. PS, you need cash if you want to use the ferry.

Just dropped in whilst on a walk in the area as I needed something to eat. There is a good hot counter serving pasties, sausage rolls etc. The steak pasty was very good. The shop is very small but seemed well stocked.

Friendly local shop with a wide variety of basic provisions including frozen food, meat, microwave meals, veg, tins, bakery, eggs, snacks, household essentials and drinks.
Always a warm welcome from staff who try to help if you're looking for a particular item.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Can't fault them.
The shop on the other hand is shocking. I've never seen such a dilapidated shop in my life. It doesn't even have a shop sign to tell you that it's a shop, apparently the front of the shop is being held up by temporary support beams. Even the ceiling inside is missing tiles. It's been like it for months. People visiting should probably wear hard hats as it is a health hazard. It's hard to imagine that a massive multinational company owns it. It belongs in a favela.
I've lived in Starcross my whole life and find that it really brings down the area. Surely we deserve better.

I would like to thank the very kind lady ( staff member) who cleaned my wounds and patched me up after falling off my bike outside the shop, she went above and beyond. Thank you very much. Xx

"Tell this Man(snidely pressed consonants), that we only accept british passports in this establishment as proof of age"...

...seems to be the accepted and enabled position of Spar and staff witnessing the exchange, when it comes to nearly 30 year old customers shopping at their neighborhood stores, ale included in a bind, as larger stores are generally preferable.

Good nature dictated that I politely excuse myself and double back to the house to fetch my passport one evening, to present the date of birth, genuinely believing that poor eyesight and NOT malice is the factor at play there, prior to that gem of a hostile quote not heard for nearly a century in countries that orchestrate an image of being civilized.

Typical englander method of doing business in the 21st century.

It's hardly difficult to reign in and reprimand corpulent female staff whose name I failed to remember, that considers that foreign workers with a residence nearby don't have command of the English language enough to rise above such discriminatory practices. But Spar may consider ignoring certain nationalist jingoistic endeavors and your brexit tantrums as a policy if they prefer to keep doing business in the UK and abroad as a Dutch franchise with poorly vetted international holdings, so that we don't have to - POLICE your customer service standards, please.

It may well have been the individual other reviews complained of...

I opted not to escalate, make a scene and pursue action at the time, to my regret, but meritocracy ought to make a showing in regards to what it is you people offer to clientele that hand you patronage in ridiculed good faith.
